Frequently Asked Questions

I’d usually recommend reserving your date with a £50 deposit 12-18 months beforehand as our popular summer dates between May and September get booked up quickly. Everything is handcrafted and baked by me, so I only take on a limited number of commissions per week to guarantee perfection. Cakes can occasionally be made with a shorter lead time, so do ask me!

I work from home in my lovely modern kitchen in Oxford and I regularly deliver to the surrounding counties of Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire and the Cotswolds.

Certainly. My cakes are made in a kitchen where gluten, nuts, milk and eggs are also used. So I can’t guarantee that all of my cakes will be safe against allergies. So do let me know at the time of ordering if you are intolerant to any of these ingredients.

I can offer some cake flavours in a gluten-free version. Not all my cakes work well with the gluten-free flour so please call me to discuss.

Several of my cakes contain nuts as an ingredient so I cannot guarantee that my kitchen is nut-free. If you have a nut allergy, it’s best to call me to discuss.

I don’t offer egg- or dairy-free cakes. They just don’t taste all that good, sorry!

You better believe it! I bake every cake fresh to order using only the highest quality branded ingredients. I never freeze our cakes or use packet mixes…for obvious reasons.

Yes, fake tiers are often incorporated to add a dramatic flourish to a cake, especially if you want the impact of a large, tall cake but only want to serve a small number of guests. We can talk about this at your consultation.

Absolutely! Consultations are a great and informal way of meeting each other face to face. I offer a cake tasting consultation for all our wedding cakes (I tend to cap them at four people to keep things relaxed and not too crowded) during which you can taste five flavours from our cake menu. Feel free to request your favourites, and we can discuss what style of cake you’d like as well.

If you haven’t saved your date with me, this consultation is charged at £25 which is then deducted from your deposit should you place an order. If an order has already been placed with a £50 ‘save the date’ deposit, then this is offered free of charge. I’ll get in touch 6-9 months before your wedding date to arrange your consultation.

If you would like to meet me and taste some of my cake before commiting with a despoit of cake tasting consultation, you can come and visit me at a wedding fair, click here for more details.

I can also post out cake samples through the post, you can pick 5 flavours from my cake menu. This is charged at £18 with £10 coming of your deposit if you wish to go ahead and order.

Yes, of course. Any cake with multiple tiers can have different flavours for each tier. Click here to see a list of possible flavours.

If you fancy fresh flowers on your wedding cake, it’s best that your florist supplies these so that they match the rest of the wedding. I can liaise directly with your florist regarding the floral decorations but please make sure you’ve ordered these in advance. We can arrange/attach pre-made flower sprays/wired stems to your cake on delivery.

Just so you know: some flowers aren’t safe for use as a cake decoration – succulents, for example, can be poisonous! Ask your florist for details and advice on toxicity. All Cakes & Sizes cannot be liable for any contamination to your wedding cake that may arise from the misuse of fresh flowers.

Yes, I do offer free stand hire, delivery and set up for most of our wedding cake designs and will deliver free for the first 10 miles. Venues over 10 miles may be charged a little more to cover my fuel costs. I’m based in Oxford and delivery is charged at £1 per mile for a round trip. If you would like a quote for same-day delivery, simply send me your venue’s postcode when enquiring about your cake. The stand must be returned to me on the next working day after the wedding, this will be discussed at your consultation.

All orders require a non-refundable deposit of £100 to confirm your order and this is due at your consultation (any deposits/fees already paid will come off this fee). Alterations to your order may be requested up to 4 weeks prior to the agreed delivery date but this may incur additional costs and cannot be guaranteed.

The remaining balance is to be paid 4 weeks prior to the agreed delivery date.

We will accept a non-refundable deposit of £50 for a period of 6 to 8 months to secure your required date prior to receiving your completed order.

I accept payment by debit/credit card. Payment can also be made by bank transfer if you prefer.

Yes i offer a 10% discount on wedding favours if I am already making your wedding cake ( minimum order of 50)
